We are constantly challenged and supported to collaboratively work with leaders, teachers, students and parents to co-design and establish a ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning.
What if pupils could be tracked continuously over their school careers – from homework assignments and weekly quizzes, to the speed with which they absorb new material? The need for an exam season, and all the anxiety, stress and mental health issues associated with it, would be gone.
Education not only needs to be more practical, it needs to be more holistic. Valuing high marks and exam success over practical skills – and skills in entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation – is an antiquated model that turns out unenthusiastic, uncreative, outcome-focused students who lack the necessary qualities to be well-rounded members of the workforce, and of society.
